“THE WORLDLY PEOPLE SAY SO MANY THINGS! BUT LOOK, WHEN THE ELEPHANT MOVES ALONG THE STREET, ANY NUMBER OF ANIMALS MAY CRY AFTER IT. BUT THE ELEPHANT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK BACK AT THEM"

Question : - IF PEOPLE SPEAK ILL OF YOU, WHAT WILL YOU THINK?
"Ans : - I SHALL THINK THAT DOGS ARE BARKING AT ME"

AT THE AGE OF 19 YEARS { March 5th, 1882 }

Most of us...Oh No, Let me rewrite this again!!! It should be....All of us face this question on a daily basis as to what would world think about ME ? Below is a transcript which would act as a solace in answering this grand dilemma of human mind......

A group of people who happened to be members of a choir were practicing songs and hymns on the stage. At the same time, it so happened that a carpenter was repairing the stage driving nails with his hammer and thereby creating noise. At every stroke of the hammer, the leader of the choir looked at the carpenter who was busy repairing the stage. After some time, the carpenter looked at the leader of the choir and said, “Sir! Continue your practice, it is not disturbing me."

This sounds rather strange. Naturally, one wonders, “Who is disturbing whom? " Similarly, we do not realize that the world is not disturbing us, but only our ignorance is the cause for our sorrow. It is the inner noise of unhappiness that causes agitation in us.

Lord Krishna, in the Gita Says, “It is because of ignorance that people experience all kinds of agitation. Due to this reason and because of ignorance, people are deluded people are miserable, they are victims of ignorance; and therefore, unless this ignorance is totally dispelled, one finds that however, skilful one's actions may be, they will be utterly superfluous and wasteful. The message of the Gita is “The cause of sorrow is delusion. One can achieve one's objective of dispelling sorrow only when one discards and destroys one's delusion. The whole message of the Gita is that we should dispel or get rid of this ignorance. By discarding this ignorance, sorrow, the offspring of ignorance, can be automatically dispelled.

As a great German psychiatrist rightly said, " The pathology that humanity seems to be suffering from is Robot pathology". We have become robots - more mechanical. We have become unaware and that leads to mechanical-ness; thereby, we have become machines and we have become unhappy. It is very essential for us to discard the ignorance or unawarenss of insensitivity. The extent to which ignorance is discarded determines the quality of improvement in one's life. The greater our freedom from ignorance, the greater is our happiness.
