WHERE THE WORLD IS AWAKE, THERE THE MAN OF SELF - CONTROL IS SLEEPING. WHERE THE WORLD SLEEPS, THERE HE IS WAKING

Out of two episodes of yesterday {15th– October} one episode, the rejection of bail plea has encapsulated the sky of Karnataka. But another episode which holds a critical relevance in historical genesis of Karnataka does not hold an iota of media attention nor does it seem to flash in our minds. {It does not need any media attention for the simple reason; Truth travels on its own accord. And truth supports universe and it is not universe that supports truth}. One of the lines which can be aptly quoted here is " Where the world is awake, there the man of self – control is sleeping. Where the world sleeps, there he is waking”.

To conceptualize these lines, is to say “We care to be wide awake in propagating aspects which does not hold any value for personal individuality nor for society; but we are sleeping in propagating aspects which does hold value for individual well being and its elevation".

Yesterday, 15th October of 1892 marks was the day when Swami Vivekananda came to Belgaum { Karnataka }. Let us revisit those day’s of Swami Vivekananda in the form of present day memorial photos { below } of Swamiji’s stay at Belgaum of 9 days and his memorial at Bangalore .

As we envision the path of Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Karnataka let us also contemplate on these lines of his: “ I therefore prostrate myself before the Lord Buddha.... I am a Vedantist; Sachchidananda — Existence-Knowledge-Bliss Absolute — is my God. I scarcely find any other God than the majestic form of my own self “ which calls each of us to be God’s and help others to be God’s.
