ಬದುಕು ಕದನವೆಂದಂಜಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟೋಡುವನು ।
ಬಿದಿಯ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಕವಳವಾಗದುಳಿಯುವನೆ? ॥
ಎದೆಯನುಕ್ಕಾಗಿಸುತ, ಮತಿಗದೆಯ ಪಿಡಿದು, ನೀ- ।
ನೆದುರು ನಿಲೆ ಬಿದಿಯೊಲಿವ – ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೫೯೮ ॥
If retreating from life considering it to be a battle, will he escape from clutches of destiny?
